The verdict
DM Champ is the best WhatsApp AI chatbot for sales-focused businesses that want a real conversational AI sales agent on WhatsApp Business API plus WhatsApp Web, with multi-channel support and full white-label for agencies. For cheap WhatsApp template broadcasting without an AI sales layer, Wati at $59/month or AiSensy at $45/month is more cost-effective. For developers who want to build directly on WhatsApp Business API and host their own logic, Twilio at $0.005 per message plus Meta fees is the raw option. Full rankings below.

Where each approach sits today
The real divide on this list is not price, it is how mature each approach to "AI on WhatsApp" actually is. Here is our read of where the four broad approaches sit on the maturity curve in mid-2026. It is a point of view, not a measurement.
How we ranked these
We evaluated each WhatsApp chatbot against four criteria. First, is the AI a real conversational sales agent (holds context, qualifies leads, books calls, handles unscripted messages) or a flow-builder with keyword triggers? Second, what's the total cost: subscription fee + Meta per-message fees (Meta's per-template-message pricing as of July 2025 onwards) + provider markup? Third, does the platform cover both WhatsApp Business API (official) and WhatsApp Web (unofficial but useful for small accounts)? Fourth, is there white-label for agencies reselling to clients? We pulled live pricing from vendor pricing pages in May 2026.
Disclosure: DM Champ is the author's product. It ranks first because it's one of the few platforms that supports both WhatsApp Business API and WhatsApp Web on the same dashboard, includes a real conversational AI sales agent on every paid tier without an add-on, and has full white-label for agencies. Where Wati, Twilio, or another tool is the right fit (template broadcasting only, developer-first, or enterprise), we say so.
1. DM Champ. The Best WhatsApp AI Sales Agent
Pricing: AppSumo lifetime deal is the primary option: a one-time purchase across 6 tiers from $59 to $999, with lifetime access and all future Pro-plan updates, backed by a 60-day money-back guarantee. White-labeling is included from Tier 3 ($229) up, and Tier 6 ($999) adds unlimited sub-accounts plus the full agency toolkit (white-label, sub-accounts, and Stripe credit reselling) permanently with no recurring platform fee. If you'd rather subscribe than buy once, monthly plans are also available: Starter $27/month (1 channel), Growth $97/month (3 channels), Pro $297/month (unlimited channels, WhatsApp Web included), Agency $497/month (unlimited sub-accounts, full white-label). Channels: WhatsApp Business API, WhatsApp Web, Instagram DMs, Facebook Messenger, SMS, Telegram, Email, web chat, custom channels via webhook. Best for: Businesses and agencies that want a real AI sales agent on WhatsApp, not just template broadcasts. Standout feature: WhatsApp Web support on Pro tier (lets small businesses use a personal WhatsApp number without going through the full Business API approval).
DM Champ is the WhatsApp AI sales agent built specifically for sales conversations rather than support deflection or marketing broadcasts. The Growth plan at $97/month includes WhatsApp Business API support along with AI appointment booking, image understanding, real-time web search, and automatic follow-ups. The Pro plan at $297/month adds WhatsApp Web (so small businesses can deploy on a personal number while waiting for full API approval), video and document understanding, webhooks, and BYOK (Bring Your Own Anthropic Key) for LLM costs.
For sales-focused use cases, the conversational agent matters more than the broadcast volume. The agent holds 50,000 tokens of memory on Growth, 75,000 on Pro, and 100,000 on Agency, which means it remembers what each lead said in past conversations across multiple sessions. This is the key gap versus Wati and AiSensy, which are template broadcasters with light bot flows bolted on.
The Fuegenix proof: The founder built the internal version for a hair transplant clinic running $50,000 treatments primarily over WhatsApp. Revenue went from $5M to $10M in 12 months on the AI sales agent.
Drawback to acknowledge: If you only need marketing templates and order updates and don't need a conversational AI agent, Wati or AiSensy is cheaper and simpler.
2. Wati. Best WhatsApp Template Broadcaster
Pricing: Growth $59/month, Pro $119/month, Business $279/month. Meta per-template-message fees on top (with Wati markup of around 20%). Channels: WhatsApp Business API only. Best for: SMBs that need marketing broadcasts, order updates, and basic chatbot flows. Standout feature: Cheapest official WhatsApp Business API entry for small businesses.
Wati is the dominant low-end WhatsApp Business API platform globally. It's not really an AI sales agent (no conversational AI layer on the included plans), but it's genuinely good at templates, basic flow-builder chatbots, and broadcast campaigns. For businesses that need WhatsApp for marketing and order updates without a sales conversation layer, Wati is the right answer. If you want the broadcaster economics but a real sales agent on top, see our Wati alternatives roundup and the side-by-side Wati vs DM Champ comparison.
Hidden costs matter. Wati applies a markup on top of Meta's per-template-message rates, plus add-ons like automation triggers, a Shopify add-on, and dedicated account managers that stack on the base subscription. Verify the current markup and add-on pricing on wati.io before budgeting, since the real monthly bill can run meaningfully above the headline subscription once message volume and add-ons are included.
Drawback to acknowledge: No real conversational AI. No Instagram, no Messenger, no SMS, no WhatsApp Web. WhatsApp Business API only.
3. Respond.io. Best Multi-Channel Inbox With AI
Pricing: Starter $79/month (5 users, inbox only, no AI), Growth $159/month (10 users, AI Agents + 1,000 MACs), Advanced $279/month, Enterprise custom. Channels: WhatsApp Business API, Instagram, Messenger, SMS, web chat, Telegram, email. Best for: Teams that need WhatsApp inside a unified multi-channel inbox. Standout feature: Workspace-style multi-tenant structure suits teams managing many brand accounts.
Respond.io is the conversation platform for businesses where WhatsApp is one of 5+ channels and human agents work alongside AI. The Growth plan at $159/month unlocks AI Agents, workflows, broadcasts, WhatsApp Calling, and Zapier integration. Monthly Active Contact (MAC) overage at $12 to $15 per 100 contacts kicks in fast at scale.
Drawback to acknowledge: No native white-label. Branding stays Respond.io.
4. AiSensy. Best Budget WhatsApp Marketing Platform (India-Heavy)
Pricing: Free tier, paid plans from $45/month (or ₹999/month for Indian customers) to enterprise custom. Channels: WhatsApp Business API, Instagram. Best for: Indian and South Asian SMBs running WhatsApp marketing on the official API. Standout feature: Free WhatsApp Business API procurement (no setup fees to get the official API for your business).
AiSensy is the cheapest official WhatsApp Business API entry for small businesses, especially in India where it's a category default. The pricing model shifted with Meta's per-template-message pricing update effective January 1, 2026: per AiSensy's published India rates, marketing templates run ₹1.09 each and utility/authentication templates ₹0.145 each, with service messages free inside the 24-hour customer service window (rates as of January 2026 — verify current rates on aisensy.com).
Drawback to acknowledge: Light on conversational AI. The platform is template- and flow-builder-first. Not really a sales agent.
5. Twilio. Best Developer-First WhatsApp API
Pricing: $0.005 per WhatsApp message sent or received, plus Meta's per-template-message fees. No monthly platform fee. Channels: WhatsApp Business API, SMS, voice, email. Best for: Engineering teams building custom WhatsApp workflows directly on the raw API. Standout feature: Pay-as-you-go pricing with no platform subscription. Combined with a custom LLM stack, it can be the cheapest option at moderate scale.
Twilio is the raw infrastructure. You build your own logic on top, plug in your own LLM, design your own UI, and pay per message. For a team with a developer, Twilio plus OpenAI plus a thin orchestration layer can deliver a custom WhatsApp AI chatbot for less than DM Champ Pro at $297/month, but the engineering and maintenance cost is real.
Drawback to acknowledge: No no-code interface. No flow builder. No analytics dashboard. You build everything.
6. Bird (formerly MessageBird). Best Mid-Market CPaaS
Pricing: Free tier (5 SMS/day), Pro $49/month (1,000 SMS credits), enterprise contracts averaging $139,908/year. Channels: WhatsApp Business API, SMS, voice, email. Best for: Mid-market and enterprise businesses that want a unified CPaaS (Communications Platform as a Service). Standout feature: Combined SMS, WhatsApp, voice, and email in one bill with enterprise-grade infrastructure.
Bird is closer to Twilio than to DM Champ. It's a CPaaS that includes WhatsApp Business API along with SMS, voice, and email. The Pro plan at $49/month is the entry for small businesses. Enterprise contracts run six figures annually.
Drawback to acknowledge: Pricing structure (platform fee + message volume commitments + channel-specific charges) gets complicated fast. Hard to estimate total cost without sales engagement.
7. Interakt. Best Budget WhatsApp Business API (India-Focused)
Pricing: Starter ₹3,499/quarter (~$14/month equivalent), Growth ₹7,699/quarter (~$31/month equivalent). Meta per-message fees on top, with an Interakt markup over Meta's pass-through rates (verify the current markup on interakt.shop). Channels: WhatsApp Business API, Instagram. Best for: Indian and South Asian SMBs on a tight WhatsApp marketing budget. Standout feature: Quarterly billing with progressive discounts (8% quarterly, 20% annual).
Interakt is the direct Indian-market competitor to Wati and AiSensy. The Starter plan is technically the cheapest, but it only offers Instagram on monthly billing. WhatsApp on Starter requires quarterly or annual commitment.
Drawback to acknowledge: Interakt adds a markup over Meta's pass-through per-message rates, which adds up at 100,000+ messages per month. Confirm the current per-message rates on interakt.shop before budgeting high volume.
8. Gallabox. Best Mid-Market WhatsApp CRM
Pricing: Growth $89/month annual, Scale $197/month, Pro up to $377/month. Meta per-message fees on top. Channels: WhatsApp Business API only. Best for: Sales teams that want a CRM-style inbox specifically for WhatsApp. Standout feature: Built-in sales pipeline tracking on top of WhatsApp conversations.
Gallabox positions itself as a WhatsApp-first CRM rather than a pure broadcaster. The Growth plan at $89/month is mid-range for the category, with sales pipeline, broadcasts, and basic chatbot flows.
Drawback to acknowledge: No real conversational AI. Subscription covers the platform but not the per-message Meta fees, which charge separately by category and recipient country.
9. Trengo. Best European Multi-Channel Inbox
Pricing: Boost €299/month annual (10 users), Pro €499/month annual (20 users), Enterprise custom. AI conversations at €0.25 each (annual) or €0.30 each (monthly) after free allowance. Channels: WhatsApp Business API, Instagram, Messenger, SMS, web chat, email, voice (Twilio). Best for: European SMBs and mid-market businesses with multi-channel customer conversations. Standout feature: European data residency and EU-focused compliance.
Trengo rebuilt its pricing in 2024 from per-seat to a conversations model with 7-day windows, fixed seat packages, and a wallet for WhatsApp, AI, and voice. The Boost plan at €299/month for 10 users is the entry. AI is built in as a paid-by-the-conversation add-on.
Drawback to acknowledge: Per-conversation AI cost stacks on top of per-message Meta fees. Total cost gets opaque at scale.
10. Yellow.ai. Best Enterprise WhatsApp AI With Voice
Pricing: Custom enterprise pricing. Typical deployments $100 to $300/month small, $500 to $5,000+/month enterprise. Custom enterprise contracts often $50,000+/year. Channels: WhatsApp Business API, Instagram, Messenger, SMS, web chat, voice, in-app. Best for: Large enterprises with voice + chat + WhatsApp deployments and a 6-month implementation runway. Standout feature: Voice agents alongside chat with enterprise-grade orchestration.
Yellow.ai is the enterprise AI agent platform. Pricing is opaque (no public tiers) and the deployment is typically a 3 to 6 month implementation with a paid services team. For Fortune 500 or large enterprises that need voice + chat across many channels with full enterprise compliance, this is the category fit.
Drawback to acknowledge: Opaque pricing makes budgeting impossible without sales engagement. Way overkill for SMBs.
11. Landbot WhatsApp. Best Visual Flow Builder for WhatsApp
Pricing: WhatsApp Starter €80/month, WhatsApp Pro €200/month (€160/month annual). Free 14-day trial. Channels: WhatsApp Business API, web chat. Best for: Non-technical operators who want to design WhatsApp flows visually. Standout feature: Best drag-and-drop flow builder UX in the category.
Landbot is the WhatsApp pick when visual design matters more than AI conversation. The flow builder is genuinely best in class. The WhatsApp Pro at €200/month gets you to 1,000 chats and 500 AI chats per month.
Drawback to acknowledge: Flow-based, not agent-based. The AI chat allowance is small and you're back to traditional flow logic past it.
12. Tars. Best Custom AI Agent Platform
Pricing: Starts at $99/month (lower tier), $499/month for the standard plan. Quote-based for enterprise. Channels: WhatsApp Business API, web chat. Best for: Teams that want custom AI agents built by Tars' professional services team. Standout feature: Done-for-you bot building included on higher tiers.
Tars sits between DIY platforms and enterprise like Yellow.ai. The pricing has a wide range ($99 to $499 entry-level depending on what's quoted) which makes apples-to-apples comparison hard.
Drawback to acknowledge: Pricing transparency is weak. Get a written quote before committing.
When DM Champ is NOT the right fit
DM Champ is the wrong choice if any of these apply. First, if you only need WhatsApp marketing templates and order updates and don't need a conversational AI sales agent, Wati at $59/month or AiSensy at $45/month is cheaper and simpler. Second, if you have a developer team and want to build directly on Twilio plus your own LLM stack, that can be cheaper than DM Champ at moderate scale (5,000 to 50,000 messages/month). Third, if you're a large enterprise with $50,000+/year budget and a 6-month implementation timeline, Yellow.ai or Bird enterprise contracts may be the category fit. Fourth, if you only want WhatsApp in a unified inbox with multiple human agents working alongside AI, Respond.io or Trengo is closer to that workflow.
How to choose between these tools
Five questions to ask before picking.
- Do you need an AI sales agent (holds context, qualifies, books calls) or just templates and broadcasts? Sales agent points to DM Champ, Respond.io Growth, or Trengo with AI. Templates and broadcasts point to Wati, AiSensy, or Interakt.
- Do you need WhatsApp Web in addition to WhatsApp Business API? Both points only to DM Champ Pro and above. Most other tools are API-only.
- How big is your monthly message volume? Under 5,000 -> DM Champ Growth ($97/month) or Wati Growth ($59/month) is enough. 5,000 to 50,000 -> DM Champ Pro ($297/month) or build on Twilio. Above 50,000 -> Twilio direct or enterprise Bird / Yellow.ai contracts to negotiate volume rates.
- Are you reselling to clients? Yes points to DM Champ's AppSumo lifetime deal: Tier 3 and up include white-labeling, and Tier 6 ($999 one-time) adds unlimited sub-accounts plus Stripe credit reselling permanently with no recurring platform fee. The monthly Agency plan ($497/month) is the alternative if you'd rather subscribe.
- Are you in India or US/EU? India-focused points to AiSensy or Interakt with native rupee billing. US/EU points to DM Champ, Wati, Respond.io, or Trengo.
