Almost always at moderate-to-high volume. Bundled credits carry a ~1.6× markup; once your usage exceeds the bundled allotment, BYOK is straight-up cheaper. At very low volume the bundled credits in the $297 base are essentially 'free' so credit-pay is competitive.

Does BYOK work with prompt caching?

Yes - DM Champ uses Anthropic prompt caching natively, and the cache discount flows through to your BYOK bill (since you're billed by Anthropic directly).

Can I switch from credit-pay to BYOK later?
