Facebook Lead Ads Integration Every Form Fill Becomes a Conversation

Running Facebook lead ads? Connect your Lead Form to DM Champ through an automation platform such as Pabbly, Zapier or Make. Each new lead is created as a contact and added to the list you choose, ready for a broadcast, a campaign or an AI Agent to follow up.

01How it works

Connecting Facebook Lead Ads Step by Step

What the setup actually looks like, from the connection screen to the first booking or record the AI handles in Facebook Lead Ads.

  1. 01
Build the lead form in Ads Manager

Create a campaign with the Leads objective and choose Instant Form as the lead method. Include first name and phone number with country code at minimum, and optionally last name and email.

  2. 02
    Submit a test lead

Preview your form, fill it in with test data and confirm the entry appears in your Facebook Lead Center. That test lead is what you map the fields against in the next step.

  3. 03
Set the trigger in your automation platform

In Pabbly, Zapier or Make, create a workflow with the Facebook Lead Ads new lead trigger. Connect your Facebook account, pick the Page and the Lead Form, and fetch the test lead to confirm the connection.

  4. 04
Send the lead into DM Champ

Add an HTTP or webhook action that posts the first name, last name, phone and email to the DM Champ contacts endpoint with your API key. Include your list ID so the contact is created and listed in the same request.

  5. 05
    Test the whole flow

Submit another test lead, then check that the contact was created with the right name, phone and email, that it landed in the correct list, and that whatever you set to message that list fired.

Every screen and field is covered in the setup guide: Facebook Lead Ads documentation.

02How it works

Facebook to DM Champ in Three Stages

There is no direct Facebook connection to set up inside DM Champ. An automation platform sits between the two and passes the lead across using the API. A prospect fills out your Facebook Lead Form, your automation platform picks up the new lead and sends the details to DM Champ, and DM Champ creates the contact and adds it to the list you specify. From there a broadcast, a campaign or an AI Agent takes over, whether that is an AI welcome message, a drip sequence or a manual follow-up.

03What you need first

Four Things Before You Start

The setup is short, but it assumes a few pieces are already in place before you start wiring anything together. You need somewhere for the lead to come from, something to carry it across, and somewhere for it to land. The help guide uses Pabbly Connect as its example, and the steps are close enough on Zapier or Make that you can follow the same order. Generate the API key first, since every request needs it, and decide which contact list the leads from this particular form should go into.

  • Facebook Ads Manager access with permission to create Lead Ads
  • A DM Champ account with an API key, generated under Settings, Integrations, API Key
  • An account with Pabbly Connect, Zapier or Make
  • A contact list in DM Champ for the new leads to land in
04Field mapping

Phone Numbers Need the Country Code

The create-contact request takes first name, last name, phone and email, mapped from the fields on your lead form. The phone number must include the country code, for example +1 for the US or +31 for the Netherlands. If your form collects the number without one, add a formatting step in your automation to put it on before the request goes out. You can also pass the list ID in the same create request, so a second add-to-list call is only needed when your platform has to create the contact before it decides which list to use.

05Finding your list ID

Copy It From the Lists Tab

Click Contacts, then the Lists tab. Open the row menu next to the list you want and click Copy list ID. That is the value your automation sends, and it decides which broadcast, campaign or AI Agent picks the lead up. Running several lead forms is the same setup repeated: a separate workflow per form, each pointing at its own list and its own follow-up.

06Worth knowing

Duplicates and Failed Calls

If a contact with the same phone number already exists, the create call comes back with a 409 error code rather than the existing contact, so your automation should branch on that and look the contact up by phone number before adding them to a list. Set your automation platform to notify you when an API call fails too, so a broken step does not quietly cost you leads.

FAQ

Frequently Asked.

Yes, through an automation platform rather than a direct connection. Pabbly Connect, Zapier or Make sits between Facebook and DM Champ and passes each new lead over using the API. The help guide walks through it with Pabbly, and the steps are similar on the other platforms.
