How contact based pricing works

ManyChat bills by active contacts: a real person you exchange messages with in a monthly billing period, through automations, AI, broadcasts or the inbox. Messaging the same person ten times still counts once. Go over your plan's number and automations keep running, but each extra active contact is charged:

PlanExtra contact, monthly planExtra contact, yearly plan
Essential$0.10$0.082
Pro$0.05$0.038
Business$0.025$0.018
Advanced$0.004$0.0028

Overages are billed monthly on both monthly and yearly plans, and you can set a threshold that caps how many extra contacts you are willing to pay for.

What AI costs on ManyChat

There is no separate AI add-on price on the current pricing page. AI is included from Pro upward: you teach it your business and tone of voice, and it replies to DMs, answers FAQs, replies to positive comments and guides conversations toward your goals. Free and Essential do not include it.

Costs on top of the plan

  • Inbox seats: on Pro, Business and Advanced, each additional inbox seat costs $25, according to the help center plan articles.
  • WhatsApp: ManyChat charges for each template message, priced by category and destination country. From October 1, 2026, service messages are charged after 1,000 free ones per number per calendar month (WhatsApp pricing guide).
  • SMS: sent through Twilio, and Twilio bills the sending cost, not ManyChat (SMS guide).
  • Email: $0.003 per email from your ManyChat wallet once the plan's free emails run out (email pricing).

A worked example

A creator on Pro paid yearly who messages 4,000 people in a month pays $29 for the plan plus 1,500 extra contacts at $0.038, which is $57, so $86 that month before any WhatsApp, SMS or email fees. On Business paid yearly, the same 4,000 contacts fit inside the 7,500 included, so it stays at $69.

Where DM Champ fits

ManyChat is priced for reach: the more people you automate, the cheaper each contact gets. If most of your work is keyword triggers, comment replies and broadcasts to a big audience, that pricing is hard to beat.

DM Champ is priced for selling. It is an AI sales agent built to read as human, so leads keep replying long enough to be qualified, handle the objection and book. You pay for the AI's work in credits instead of per contact:

DM ChampManyChat
Entry paid plan$97 a month (Business), 250 AI credits, around 500 AI replies$14 a month yearly (Essential), no AI

So ManyChat is usually the cheaper bill for high volume automation. DM Champ makes sense when each conversation is worth real money: a booked appointment, a call, a sale.
